An Easter Christchurch Park Engagement / Erika & Nathan

April saw a number of really fun shoots for me and Erika & Nathan's engagement shoot was certainly no exception. The guys are getting married in early June, with a traditional church ceremony followed by a reception at The Last Anchor in Ipswich and I really can't wait to capture it for them. Erika and Nathan chose the picturesque setting of Christchurch Park in Ipswich town centre for their engagement shoot.  We headed out mid-morning and visited a number of quiet parts of the grounds to capture some fun, informal portraits of the guys.

Pre-wedding, or engagement shoots as I like to refer to them are perfect for getting to know your photographer a little better, before the actual wedding day.  It gives you chance to experience being photographed well in advance and gives you opportunity to discuss anything you particularly love, that you would like to capture on the day.

These guys were awesome and I know we'll create some amazing shots on the wedding day.

I love using all kinds of textures as backdrops in my images.  Here we use the back of the park's kiosk.
Fun, impromptu, playful moments always work great at my engagement shoots.
I LOVE this image. Just the connection in Erika's eyes.
As well as capturing great shots of the couple, it's really also important to me to capture the individuals too.
Nathan was awesome at the shoot.  So relaxed and took it all in his stride.
Another favourite of mine.  I just love the connection here in Nathan's eyes.
It's also important to set the scene with some wider portraits.  It helps me to tell the story of the day.
Just simple, relaxed portraits, like a casual walk in the park.
I loved this band stand as it was a great way to finish off the session.
