Glemham Hall Wedding // Vicky & Josh

Vicky and Josh were married on May 6th, with a ceremony at the Parish Church of St. Andrew in Little Glemham and a reception at Glemham Hall

When my assistant, Sara, and I arrived at Glemham Hall , it was so easy to be awe-struck by the sight of the huge manor and you could feel the history all around us.  The Hall was built around 1560 for the de Glemham family, who trace their roots all the way back to around 1228.

We started out together at Glemham Hall documenting all the beautiful bridal details as Vicky and her girls got ready. Vicky and Josh had decided to give each other gifts ahead of the wedding, and amongst Josh’s gifts to Vicky was a heartfelt, handmade scrapbook documenting all the fun times from their relationship up to that point. We were able to capture those perfect, happy tears shed at all the personal touches that Josh had put into the gifts.

Sara stayed with Vicky and the girls while I headed down to a nearby cottage in Grundisburgh, where the guys were getting ready so that I could document those last  moments before they headed for the church.  Vicky’s gift to Josh was a beautiful Rolex watch, which completely blew him away.

After that, I headed back to Glemham Hall to catch the final stages of Vicky’s prep and as part of this time, arranged a first look between Vicky and her dad on the grand staircase, within the main hall. That first look was incredibly emotional, and one of the most memorable moments of the day for me, as you could see the sheer delight on Vicky’s dad's face, when he saw his daughter for the first time, in her dress.

A vintage Rolls Royce then arrived to pick up Vicky and her dad to take them to the ceremony, a short drive away at The Church of St. Andrew in Little Glemham.  Vicky & Josh made their vows in front of friends and family at a gorgeous service and then left to the rapturous applause of a confetti line, out to their waiting car, while the rest of the guests made the short walk to Glemham Hall

The guests were greeted with welcome drinks and canapés as Tori, the venue’s co-ordinator, formally announced Vicky & Josh down the grand staircase. Guests were then able to go wander in the colourful rose garden, where a saxophonist completed the gorgeous setting and ambiance.

I whisked Vicky and Josh off around the stunning grounds for some alone time, whilst we created their couple portraits, just after the family group photographs. Guests were then called for the wedding breakfast, with speeches taking place in between each course. All the speakers held the room with their heartfelt speeches, which had every one of us hooked, touched by countless laughs, stories and clear, true emotion.

Once evening fell, we created some evening portraits in front of the grand front door of Glemham Hall. We had to, once again, take advantage of the stunning venue and setting, after all! We captured some really fun, dramatic photographs, before I released the guys so they could join their loved ones in cutting the cake, sharing their first dance, and dancing the night away.

Vicky & Josh, you guys are such an amazing couple who I just know will have a long and happy life together filled with laughter all the way. It has been fantastic getting to know you and your lovely families over the past year, and it was an honour to document this beautiful day.
