The Preview // A Summer Kesgrave Hall Portrait Experience / The Gardiner Family

This Summer has seen me meet some truly amazing families all over Suffolk, in some really awesome locations.

The Gardiner family chose the gorgeous grounds of Milsom Kesgrave Hall, an amazing luxury hotel and restaurant on the outskirts of Ipswich.

The Johnson Family's Portrait Experience at Old Felixstowe, Suffolk

What a fun morning! I headed out early on Sunday morning, taking the trip to beautiful Old Felixstowe in Suffolk to meet the Johnson family for their portrait experience.

They guys were just fantastic and we had so much fun playing games, collecting shells and err...getting jumped on by a very wet passing dog!

Old Felixstowe is a well known location for family's in Suffolk to go at the weekends to take a long walk along the sprawling beach and really recharge those batteries.

If you would like to schedule your family in for a location portrait experience, please get in touch as I'd love to hear from you. I really like it when families have a special place they like to go and so want to be photographed there. Where will you choose? :-)

Children's Portraits: Meet Holly - Essex Portrait Photographer

A little while ago I had the absolute pleasure of taking some portraits for the Davies family in Colchester, Essex. On this occasion, Mum & Dad wanted some natural, fun images of their daughter Holly both at the local park and at their home. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side on the day, so we decided to capture some relaxed, vibrant portraits at the family home using the available light from the living room, some fun shots whilst playing 'hide & seek' and 'putting the teddies to bed' in and around the house and finally, when the weather cleared a little we headed outside to the garden to play around with Holly's umbrella and super-cool bike. It just proves that the weather doesn't always have to ruin a location portrait session!

Holly was an absolute joy to photograph, so receptive, happy and co-operative. She really is a credit to her parents.

If you'd like to have a chat about a location portrait session for your child, or indeed anyone else! please get in touch. RD

The Knights Family - Family Portrait Experience, Ipswich, Suffolk

As you may well already know, I specialise in location portraits. For those of you that are not familiar with this term, it basically just means getting out in the fresh air and using our wonderful surroundings as our studio! The great thing about doing it this way is that we can go to a location that is special to the family, maybe a park that they enjoy? or somewhere else that evokes great memories.

Well this is exactly what I did with the Knights family a few weeks ago. The sun was shining, so we packed up the car and headed out to a fantastic location just a stones throw away from where they lived. It was such a fun day, and as well as the all important family images, I also took time to capture some of just mum and dad - I think its still important to show these guys as husband and wife as well as mum and dad.

Here are the results... RD
