Wedding Photographer Ross Dean discusses the positive impact a first look between a bride and her father can have on a wedding experience.
A question I often get asked during wedding photography enquires is "How far in advance do we need to book you?". My answer is always "As soon as you're able". After deciding on a date and then securing the venues for both your ceremony and reception, it is considered that your photographer is one of the next big investments to get in place.
It was a real honour to be asked by my good friend Emily McVeigh over at Kenton Hall Estate to pop over to her recent wedding fair at her gorgeous Suffolk wedding venue and run a workshop for brides on wedding photography. 'The Truly Marvellous Wedding Fair' is a unique, forward-thinking take on the conventional wedding fair, incorporating informative workshops and a host of other interactive events that run throughout the day to educate and entertain the modern bride.
I had a great time presenting a short talk on what to consider when looking for a wedding photographer, from researching the market to find a 'good fit' for your own style and personality, right through to what to expect at the wedding consultation and a whole lot more. It was great to also take time to speak to some really cool brides after the talk and answer a few questions too.
A big thank you also to my buddy Paul at Dreamwave Events, for capturing some shots of me presenting the workshop.
