Top 5 Things for Couples to do in Croatia

A place filled with pristine beaches, a fantastically rich history, and stunning countryside sprawling across thousands of unspoilt kilometres, it is safe to say that Croatia certainly has plenty to boast about. Whether you’re looking for a honeymoon destination or simply a romantic getaway with your partner, consider heading to Croatia and enjoying the following top things to do while there:

1. Explore the Region of Istria

Known for its lovely hilltop towns - each with its own unique character - Istria is best explored by renting a car for the day. Make your way through its enchanting winding roads in between towns, stop at vineyards along the way, and discover unexpected vistas while not having to stick to a set schedule or agenda. Just before the night draws in, head to the charming old town of Oprtalj where a sunset view of the valley below makes for the perfect end to a perfect day.

2. Enjoy a Couple’s Massage on Hvar

With all of that exploring, give your bodies a rest and enjoy a couple’s massage while visiting the stunning island of Hvar. The spa at Adriana Hotel will put you right at ease as you’ll be enjoying the massage outside overlooking the sea amid soft music and twinkling candles. You can’t get much more romantic than that!

3. Go Wine Tasting on Vis Island

Just a hop, skip, and jump away from Hvar you’ll find Vis Island where those looking for a bit of solitude tend to be drawn to. Once you’ve enjoyed a day of snorkeling with friendly bottlenose dolphins, make your way to one or two of the local wineries and explore what makes this island so special. End the evening at the palm-fringed garden restaurant of Villa Kaliopa and reminisce on the amazing day you’ve both had.

4. Take a Boat Ride Through Plitvice Lakes

With so much natural beauty that makes up Croatia, it’s hard to choose where to take it all in. However, none quite compare to that of the electric blue waters of the Plitvice Lakes. Enveloped by dense forests and interconnected by breathtaking waterfalls, you’ll begin to wonder why this hadn’t always been on your bucket list.

5. Marvel at the Roman Ruins of Zadar

Away from all the hustle and bustle that fills towns like Dubrovnik and Split, the city of Zadar invites you to explore not only its many modern attractions but also its plethora of medieval churches and Roman ruins throughout. Walk the streets of old town hand-in-hand while marveling at the many unique architectural wonders Zadar has become so well-known for.
